The year is 2012 and I'm marrying Lisa today. It's going to be quite the occasion with family and friends, including some special guests from the Netherlands. Joining us throughout the day is Radio Barones, Radio Batavier, Radio Matrix and his brother Wim, together with ace pirate listener Siny from Langeveen.
I'm not quite sure what the local pubs made of these awesome visitors, but we massively enjoyed our day celebrating and the days before when we showed them around the area.
Fast-forward to 2021 and these pirates are all still active, and one of them was even on air today. Here are all the stations I heard before retiring from the radio to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

Observations
I thought yesterday was an early start when signals started to arrive here at just before 2pm. However, today I happened to switch on the receiver at around 8am and heard several stations. It had been daylight for sometime so I didn’t expect to hear anything, but there was Alabama blasting away during a qso on 1647 kHz. While his signal was strong, there was plenty of fading with propagation changing rapidly.
One of the features of the activity later in the day was an appearance from Zomerzon on 1638 kHz. It’s been some time since I heard him, and it was good to catch this test transmission and qso. I remember meeting the man himself at a party hosted by Barones some years ago, so it was good to hear his voice again.
