It was a flying start to the new week with plenty of activity, a nice surprise to hear Johnny Depp on the air, and a great end to the day with the Oliebollenbakkers getting ready for Christmas on 1650 kHz . . .

Observations
Much-improved conditions today with signals gradually getting stronger during the afternoon and solid by evening.
Karel Doorman was the first station I heard today, with the 85-year-old operator just audible an hour before sunset on his usual frequency of 1646 kHz. Next up was Pandora, who was busy on 1625 kHz at various times throughout the day.
There was an interesting qso at around teatime. It started off with Digitaal and Mebo 2, but gradually increased in size until Telefunken, Spanningzoeker, Josje Power and Concorde were all chatting away together.
You know Christmas can’t be far away when you hear the Oliebollenbakkers from Friesland on air. Also known as the Pier Clan for the rest of the year - a group of stations including Relmus, Yogi Bear, Dr Einstein, Batavier and Linda - they take on a new identity for the festive season and were heard testing on 1650 kHz tonight using the Yogi Bear transmitter. The signal was peaking up very high although there seemed to be a few audio problems to start with, although they were soon fixed. Looking forward to the broadcasts over the next few weeks guys!

Observations
Great conditions on the band this morning with Noordster peaking at the maximum sinpo of 55555 during his breakfast show. When he closed down there was a qso featuring Quiksilver, Eigen Risico, Blauwe Piraat and others. I made a couple of recordings:
