Stunning reception

There were superb propagation conditions on Tuesday with signals arriving in the centre of England before 2pm local time, when I heard Zwarte Piraat and Vrolijke Mijnwerker qsoing with each other. And here are the other stations received:

Observations

  • At around 1730 Ros Am was absolutely belting into the UK and sounding as though it was a local station. You can see exactly how I was receiving him on the video below. At the same time, Digitaal was also very strong, as was Drukstroomjager.


    

  • During his test broadcast Ros Am played Fleetwood Mac and Go Your Own Way and it took me directly back to December 31 in the early 1990s when I was listening to his New Year’s Eve programme on MW (under a different name back then!). It’s lovely to have such memories and that 30 years on we are still enjoying our hobby. Talking about Ros, he recently received not one, but two reception reports from Newfoundland in Canada when he was heard by two listeners on a DX camp. Observations

  • Some nice catches for me today. De Oudeman was a new one for me, while Witte Duif and Dutchman aren’t heard so often here, so it was a pleasure to see their signals making it across to England.
